Tasmanian champion Brad Whitchurch has made it 3 feature wins from 4 starts in Round 4 of the Statewide series at Hobart speedway.
Heat 1 the honours went to Hobart driver Peter Griffiths who stormed around the outside to record an impressive win in front of Latrobe pair Jamie Rolls and Hadyn McBain.
Heat 2 saw Hobart young gun Jack Crossin continue his impressive start to the year winning in front of Tasmanian champion Brad Whitchurch and Jamie Rolls who had a good result in an earlier heat. Heat 3 saw Jack Crossin record his 2nd heat win in front of Hobart driver Brad Walkley and Latrobe Jeremy Smith. The final saw Jack Crossin and Jamie Rolls start on the front row for the 20 lap feature. On lap 1 there was an incident which caused a stoppage and it was a complete restart. With another incident on the restart bringing out the red light when Joe Turnbull made contact with Chris Breen and put it on its side, both cars were able to restart. On the third restart Jack Crossin and Jamie Rolls collided causing Rolls to have a massive crash. Luckily Jamie was able to walk away but both Rolls and Crossin were unable to restart both ending their night on the infield. When the race finally got under way Brad Whitchurch led from start to finish in front of Luke Redpath who recorded his best result in an A main this season with Hobart Peter Griffiths rounding out the top three. The next meeting for Wingless Sprints will be at Cranes Combined Carrick speedway on boxing night.
