Australian Wingless Sprint Racing has recently announced that the 2016-17 season Tasmanian Wingless Sprints Title will now take place over one night, rather than two, on the Saturday night of March 11.

Initially scheduled as a two-night event, the AWSR was recently made aware from the major Tasmanian shipping company that due to the public holiday on Monday, March 13, shipping space was very limited for the entire week from Monday onwards.

Consequently, after discussions with both Wingless Sprints Tasmania and the host venue Carrick Speedway, the decision to revert the state title to one night only was made to enable all drivers who wish to compete in the event able to do so.

The shipping company has assured that there is currently ample shipping space available on March 12; however, competitors are encouraged to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

If drivers are unable to stay for the full state title weekend, due to shipping limitations, they will still be entitled to all previous incentives that have been offered by the track and Wingless Sprints Tasmania for competing on March 11.

Wingless Sprints will still race at Carrick Speedway on Sunday, March 12 in a standalone event that will offer significant prize money.

The 2017 Australian Championship, which will be held at Carrick Speedway from February 23-25, is full steam ahead and drivers are encouraged to make travel and accommodation arrangements as soon as possible.
