Australian Title Podium

The 2015-16 season Australian Wingless Sprints Title podium-place getters have now been officially confirmed, as their engines have passed the final engine inspections.

Following the Australian Title event at Toowoomba’s Hi-Tec Oils Speedway in Queensland earlier last month, the top-three drivers, Daniel Hartigan (WA), Brad Whitchurch (Tas) and Robert Heard (SA), had their engines tagged for the required 21-day inspection period, in order to ensure all engines were compliant.

In a desired outcome, the engines have been deemed acceptable, much to the delight of two-time and current Australian Champion Hartigan, whose impressive victory will stand.

President of Australian Wingless Sprints Racing, Michael Parry, was pleased with the result.

“After being thoroughly examined, it’s fantastic to see that all of the engines have passed the final inspections,” commented Parry.

“The inspections are necessary to ensure that all drivers are on a level playing field and comply with the specifications set out by the AWSR. We want to promote fairness in the sport and the inspections are a way of helping us achieve that.”

The AWSR is looking forward to next season’s Australian Wingless Sprints Title event, which will be held at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway in Tasmania for the first time on February 24-25.
