With Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway hosting the Australian Wingless Sprint Championship and Tasmanian Title in February and March, 2017, the AWSR is reminding mainlanders to book their travel arrangements as soon as possible.

Significant planning will be required by mainlanders in order to attend the events next year, particularly in terms of shipping their race cars and equipment to Tasmania, as well as organising accommodation close to the track.

While limited space on the Spirit of Tasmania has been reserved by Austrips, who are assisting drivers and teams with their travel arrangements, AWSR President Mick Parry has stressed that due to space on the ship being subject to availability, the importance of making early bookings is paramount.

“In order to avoid disappointment, drivers and teams are encouraged to get in touch with Austrips to book their travel arrangements as soon as possible to avoid disappointment,” commented Parry.

“Space on the Spirit of Tasmania is strictly subject to availability so it will be first in, best dressed. It will also be worthwhile looking into accommodation close to Carrick Speedway, to avoid having to travel long distances to and from the track.”

Austrips is also happy to assist in finding suitable accommodation for those who book the Spirit of Tasmania with them; this will be handled on a case by case basis.

For any queries regarding shipping or transport, contact Tanya McKinnell from Austrips on 0364 231 008.
