Demonstrating the growth and success of the Tasmanian Wingless Sprints, three new drivers are set to join the ranks in what will undoubtedly be an action-packed 2016-17 season.

After running selected shows last season, Luke Wilson will be permanently stepping into Wingless Sprints from Formula 500s, having purchased his car from fellow racer Pete Griffiths.

Ryan Harding will take the wheel in his new machine which was formerly owned by hard-charger Jack Crossin, who will pilot the Ashley Walsh-owned Tas # 45 car throughout the 2016-17 season. Also joining the field will be Troy Lewis, who has been competing in Speedway Karts for many seasons and is looking forward to taking on the new challenge in the form of Wingless Sprints.

000 - Narelle Blight

Rounding out the newcomers will be Narelle Blight, who will make a return to racing after a decade, having originally raced Street Stocks. Blight, the secretary of the Tasmanian Wingless Sprints, has purchased one of Victorian Robert Johnson’s machines.

The rookies will have the opportunity to be a part of the biggest two weeks in Tasmanian Wingless Sprint history, with the 2016-17 Powranna Plant Hire Australian Championship being held on February 23-25, 2017 at Carrick Speedway. Two weeks later, the drivers will return to Carrick Speedway for the running of the Tasmanian Title on March 11.
