This Saturday night “The Place for Pace” Avalon Raceway will host Round Four of the Alfie’s Excavation & Plant Hire Super Series.

A 50 lap feature race and a bonus $50 per lap lead in the feature in addition to a Golden COOL ticket in the end of season series draw, has attracted a field of over 50 cars including a number of interstate drivers.

A new track surface and hot weather conditions for Round Three of the Alfie’s Excavation & Plant Hire Super Series at Simpson Speedway last Saturday night tested the leading contenders. A number of drivers sitting in the top ten points failed to make the A Main including the series point’s leader David Cook which created a stir in the points by the night’s end. Daniel Storer claimed the Golden COOL ticket for Round Three by taking the feature win ahead of Travis Millar, James Wren and Andy Hibbert whilst Mathew Balcombe had a great drive forward to finish fifth after transferring from B Main 1.

The Salt Electrical “Hard Luck” Award was awarded to rookie driver Marc Evans. After dicing with a number of cars at the rear of the field in heat races, Evans was unfortunate to tangle with a spinning Glenn Watts which resulted in a hole in the sump of the v66 ending his night on the trailer.

POINTS STANDINGS (after Round 3)
James Wren       837
Andy Hibbert     836
Luke Weel           809
Daniel Storer      793
David Cook         107

Mark Balcombe 600
David Alford       592
Travis Millar        568
Peter Logue       547

Round 4 of the Alfie’s Excavation & Plant Hire Super Series will be staged over two qualifying heats, twin B Mains and a 50 lap feature. On top of the $750 pay cheque and a Golden COOL ticket for winning the feature, a bonus $50 is up for grabs per lap led. With a huge amount of money and prizes up for grabs the racing should be fierce over the gruelling 50 lap journey.
