Single-handedly flying the flag for South Australia, Joel Chadwick will no doubt launch a strong assault when he travels to Carrick Speedway in Tasmania to contest this weekend’s 2016-17 season Powranna Plant Hire Australian Wingless Sprint Championship.

The form driver throughout his state so far this season, having already racked up a number of feature-race wins, Chadwick will be heading into the Australian Championship in the best form possible, after recently dominating the South Australian Title at Adelaide Motorsport Park to impressively score back-to-back wins in the event, after first claiming the crown at Murray Bridge Speedway the previous season.

Voted the 2015-16 season South Australian Driver of the Year, Chadwick will be looking to improve on last season’s Australian Championship result at Toowoomba’s Hi-Tec Oils Speedway, where he finished in a gallant sixth after a tough run earlier in the weekend.

The hard-charging racer is sure to be a leading contender and will attempt to capitalise on his consistent speed and experience in order to claim Australian Championship glory.

The Australian Championship will be held over three days, beginning on the Thursday night of February 23 with practice and then the Calcutta. The following Friday night will see drivers contest the first rounds of heat races and a preliminary feature race, with the remaining heat races, C main, B main and Australian Championship-deciding feature race to be held on the Saturday night of February 25. The event offers a whopping prize pool of $22,000, with $4,000 to win.

Two weeks later, Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway will host the Tasmanian Wingless Sprint Title on the Saturday night of March 11.
