Following the running of the NSW Wingless Sprint Title at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway last month, the final placings have now been confirmed after the top-three drivers’ engines passed final inspection.

Crossing the line in first, second and third in the title-deciding feature race almost one month ago, Jason Bates, Jeff Thomas and Victorian Luke Weel’s final positions were provisional, subject to their engines being tagged and undergoing the mandatory 21-day inspection period to ensure they were compliant with the rules and regulations of Wingless Sprint racing.

With each of their engines now having passed final scrutineering, Bates has officially been declared the NSW Champion, with Thomas and Weel in second and third place.

“It’s great to see that each of the drivers passed post-race scrutineering,” commented Australian Wingless Sprint Racing President Mick Parry.

“It’s a real testament to the control of the class and the great competition that Wingless Sprints always produce on a level playing field.”
