Dean Thomas has used his recent USC experience to cruise home the winner of round 11 of the Aussie Forklift Repairs Club Championship at Valvoline Raceway.

Dean took the lead on lap six and was never challenged from that lap to take a great win. Second and third were club championship combatants Jason Bates and Daniel Flood. Both Bates and Flood had an enthralling battle in the latter half of the race with Bates making the move on Flood entering turn three with only a handful of laps remaining.

Fourth was Harley Smee, cementing his consistent form this season with Mark Blyton finishing in fifth. Troy Carey, Marshall Blyton who was lucky after wheel hiking in turns one and two, Leighton O’Brien, Jarrad Rust and Peter Granger rounded out the top ten.

Eleventh home was Jamie Dicker followed by Darryl Marshall, Sam Louttit, Jamison Blyton, Zac Pacchiarotta who has improved greatly in recent weeks, Nick Tatnell, John McRae, Warne Arnold and Darren Dalton was the final on-track finisher.

Non finishers were Kristopher Johnson, Michael Sammut and Sean Mayo and Sean Dicker who both became locked together and were forced out on the opening lap. Mitchell O’Brien was a non-starter in the event.

Heat race wins in the first set of heats went to went Daniel Flood, Darren Dalton, Wayne Arnold and Jason Bates. The second round of heats went to Marshall Blyton, Dean Thomas, Andrew Seery and Jamison Blyton.

Luke Sayre rode out a spectacular flip after contact with another car. He emerged A-OK, however the car was destroyed.

A few notables on the night were Darren Dalton’s first heat race win and Wayne Arnold has made his third consecutive Valvoline Raceway A-Main start.

The next event on the NSW Wingless Sprints calendar is Saturday, February 18 at Valvoline Raceway.

The NSW Wingless Sprints would like to thank Aussie Forklift Repairs for their wonderful support of the 2016/17 Club Championship.
