Wingless Sprint drivers are gearing up for their biggest and longest race of the season with the Hernes Freight Service 100 lap Wingless Sprint Grand Prix due to be run on Friday and Saturday January 13 & 14th at Lismore Speedway.

This will be the third running of the event with previous winners being Adam Wallis 2015 and Kevin Willis 2016 in what were both epic races.

Both drivers created a little bit of history with Wallis being the inaugarual winner and Willis winning last years event with a non stop 100 lap green to chequer  run to the flag.. Willis can’t wait for this years race “ It’s amazing that we ran 100 laps without a stoppage. It was really tough on the body as there was no chance to rest and regroup as you usually can on a restart, so you really need to be in shape to take it on”.

The driver that can master the mileage will walk away with the silverware and as expected the event is creating plenty of interest amongst competitors.

Night 1 will see drivers race 3 heats plus preliminary C, B and A mains as required.

Night 2 will see 2 heats per driver plus last chance C and B mains culminating in the 100 lap feature race.

Nominations are currently being accepted on the AWSR site with cut off being Sunday January 8th.

Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway has been at the forefront of supporting Wingless Sprints pioneering both 50 and 100 lap blue ribbon events.

Enquires in regard to the format and payout of the event should be directed to Adam Bailey  0403414328 and Warren King 0416117000.
