Broome Hoping For A Sweet Easter Result

This Easter Saturday night the chequered flag will fall on the inaugural Ti Bills Wingless Sprints SA State Series at the Riverland Speedway at Renmark. After what has been a trying year of travelling across the state dodging rain, fog and late nights all fingers are crossed that the Easter Bunny will deliver an evening to delight the race fans and allowing the best South Australian Wingless Sprint drivers to produce a real on track Easter treat.

In all a total of 22 drivers have nominated for the Renmark Paringa Council supported final round and they will all be chasing Mount Gambier racer Mitch Broome, who has finished first and second in the two officially completed rounds. In addition to his series results, he was the runner-up in the recent South Australian Championship at Whyalla.

With the recent retirement of multiple National Champion Joel Chadwick, the closest rival to Broome in the Series standings is Mildura based competitor Jordon Bolitho, and with Renmark just down the road from his hometown he has a vast amount of track experience. But with Broome holding a sizable lead going into the Grand Final he holds the upper hand.

Loxton’s Keke Falland is very much a local and has experience at the tight little track in both Sprintcars and Wingless Sprints, so he too will be hard to beat. Rylan Furler, William Caruso, Nate Trewin, Matthew Tyler and Jesse Alexander, who all sit inside the top 10 overall, are also on the entry list and they will all be out to finish the season off strong.

Having finished on the podium of a gruelling South Australian Championship recently at the Whyalla Speedway, Mitch Rigney will be full of confidence this weekend and he will be hoping he can continue on with his impressive run. Although not in the overall Series running Anthony Tapley, who missed the opening round, Jenna Kervers, Sam Martin, Darryl Sloan, Bronson Mauro and Tate Cowie will also be out to impress in the final round.

Due to a couple of major accidents at the Murray Bridge Speedway during the 60-Lapper, there have been a couple of driver changes worth noting with teenager Kaitlin Vickers, who is a very competitive Dirt Kart racer, making her debut in the #15 substituting for her Brother Hayden, while Caleb Evans will pilot the #33 machine after the recent retirement of hard-working Wingless Sprints of SA Club Member and all round good guy Brad Evans.

The format will include Time Trials, two rounds of heats, a B-Main (if required) and a 30 Lap A-Main.

Current Ti Bills Series Points after 3 Rounds (Top 10 of 52): 1. S35 Mitch Broome 633, 2. S5 Joel Chadwick 617, 3. S50 Jordon Bolitho 604, 4. S3 Keke Falland 602, 5. S15 Hayden Vickers 598, 6. S26 Rylan Furler 592, 7. S10 William Caruso 561, 8. S58 Nate Trewin 557, 9. S14 Matthew Tyler 515, 10. S84 Jesse Alexander 503.
