Ti-Bills Finale At MMS

By Phil Michell Motorsport Media

This Saturday night (April 13) the Ti-Bills Wingless Sprints SA Race Series will come to a conclusion with the Grand Finale at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway. A field of 35 drivers is expected to be in attendance and they will all be chasing points leader Rylan Furler, who was victorious in the previous round at the Sunline Speedway at Waikerie.

After four Rounds Furler holds a 99-point lead over Jack McCarthy, who was victorious in round 3 at the Timmis Speedway, so it will be tough for McCarthy to run him down but Furler had a disappointing showing two weeks ago when he failed to qualify for the main event, so anything is possible.

Former South Australian Champion Tyson Martin, who is also a round winner this season, sits in third place just 8 points ahead of William Caruso, while Jenna Kervers is only 8 points further back, so the battle for third place overall will be one to watch.

After winning the last Murray Bridge event regular Sprintcar racer Joel Heinrich will be searching for back-to-back wins and he will be going all out to win as he doesn’t have a points championship to consider. Along with Heinrich, there are several other drivers who will be out to win their first Ti-Bills Series A-main for the season including the likes of Matthew Kennedy, Sam Martin, Nate Trewin, Brad Vaughan, Hayden Vickers, Anthony Tapley and Dan Evans.

The format for Saturday night will see two rounds of heat races, a Top 6 dash, a B-main and a 30-lap, 20 car Grand Finale.

The Top 10 (of 61) in points following Round 4 of the Ti-Bills Wingless Sprints SA Race Series 1. Rylan Furler 413, 2. Jack McCarthy 314, 3. Tyson Martin 300 4. William Caruso 292, 5. Jenna Kervers 284, 6. Alan Saint 272, 7. Matthew Tyler 243, 8. Caleb Evans 242, 9. Jesse Alexander 241, 10. Tate Cowie 183.
