Official release: NSW Wingless Sprints

November 29, 2015

It has been quite a while between wins for Daniel Flood but he returned to victory lane in round three of the Motoradco Radiator Service and Aussie Forklift Repairs NSW Wingless Sprints Club Championship at Valvoline Raceway on Saturday night.

Flood took full advantage of his starting spot on the inside of the second row and moved into position two in the early stages before taking the lead on lap seven and not looking back.

Once again, the battles throughout the field were great to watch on the slick track. Apart from Daniel Flood, Mark Blyton was also impressive, coming from deep in the pack to record a second place finish. Third to the line was the pole sitter for the A-Main, Michael Sammut.

The race was declared just one lap from home after Graham Flood rolled over, however no one could deny Daniel Flood of the win, his first win in a number of seasons in the Wingless Sprints class.

Following the top three home was Brian Briton, Rodney Granger, Robert Mackay, Adam Butler, Geoff Piekar, Darryl Marshall and Stephen Allen rounded out the top ten. Eleventh home was Nikki Briton who was the best of the female racers all night, Queenslander Mitch Gowland, Jeff Neve, Chris McInerney, Graham Flood, Sean Mayo, Michael Gray, Clint McCorquodale and Blake Darcy was the last placed finisher.

Non finishers were Scott Rowe, opening night A-Main winner Matthew Ferguson, Victorian Hayden Reeves, Peter Granger and Jeff Thomas.

Heat race wins went to Leighton O’Brien, Robert Mackay, Blake Darcy, Jeff Neve, John Mcrae, Mitch Gowland, Darryl Marshall and Brian Briton.

B-Main one was a win for Scott Rowe ahead of Geoff Piekar and Darcy. B-Main two went to Stephen Allen ahead of Michael Gray and Clint McCorquodale.

The next night on the NSW Wingless Sprints calendar will be next Saturday night, December 5 at the Morris Park Speedway, Dubbo.

The NSW Wingless Sprints would like to thank all competitors for a good night of racing and a special thanks to the interstate teams who made the effort to come and race.

Also a massive thanks to our club championship sponsors, Motoradco Radiator Service and Aussie Forklift Repairs.
