After major upgrades to Tennant Creek Speedway Wingless Sprints will be on the card for their 2 night opening show.
The new concrete wall and catch fence will be the envy of many Speedway Venues across Australia. The NT government through Motorsports NT has been working with speedway venues in the Northern Territory to raise the level of safety at all our speedways.
The Territory now has 4 speedways on the Stuart Highway, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Darwin, with similar track safety standards, for those who have visited Northline Speedway (Darwin) the catch fences are all constructed the same. Clubs have also been working hard to improve the general surrounds to enhance the spectators experience. Remember though this is the Red Centre so don’t expect lush green grass, water in these areas is a precious commodity and not to be wasted.
A field of 9 Wingless Sprints is expected, our northern drivers have had seat time, but for the southern racers this is for most the first race meeting for more than a year.
A big shout out goes to the volunteers in Tennant Creek who have made this possible, another venue for Wingless Sprints to race.
NT Wingless Sprints Association must also be thanked for their financial contribution towards the costs of paramedics to be in attendance on both nights. The cost of paramedics is a major issue for these club run venues.
Watch out for the results to be posted.
