The 2016-17 season for Wingless Sprints will offer two big weekends of racing in Tasmania which are not to be missed, with the Powranna Plant Hire Australian Championship and the Tasmanian Title.

Below is everything you need to know in order to prepare for these events.

The Australian Title will be held over three days at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway, beginning on Thursday, February 23 with practice and the calcutta. The following Friday night will see the heat races and preliminary feature race, with the remaining heats and title-deciding feature race to be held on Saturday night of February 25. The event offers a whopping prize pool of $22,000, with $5,000 to win.

Two weeks later, drivers will return to Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway where they will contest the Tasmanian Title. The title is expected to be held over two nights on March 11-12 with the opportunity for drivers to win a minimum of $2,000; however, if less than 30 cars nominate, it will be changed to single-night event on March 11, and a feature event for Wingless Sprints will be held on March 12.

To find out more about the Australian Wingless Sprints Championship, contact Mick Parry on 0423 548 622, and to find out more about the Tasmanian Title, contact Narelle Blight on 0439 898 697.

If competing in both the Australian Championship and Tasmanian Title, mainland drivers are eligible to receive tow money up to the following amounts based on the standard tow money and the bonuses detailed below: Vic – $1,300, NSW – $1,450, SA – $1,450, Qld – $1,700, NT – $2,200, WA – $2,200.

In addition to the regular tow money, Wingless Sprints Tasmania will offer $300 extra to the first 10 cars who have nominated, paid and competed in the 2017 AWSR Australian Championship. The next 10 cars (11-20) who have nominated, paid and competed in the 2017 AWSR Australian Championship will receive an extra $150 for towage.

Interstate drivers competing in both the 2017 AWSR Australian Wingless Sprint Championship and the 2017 Tasmanian Wingless Sprint Title are eligible to receive an additional $200 towage, provided by Wingless Sprints Tasmania, which will be capped at five.

Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway will also provide $200 to each car competing in both the 2017 AWSR Australian Wingless Sprint Championship and the 2017 Tasmanian Wingless Sprint Title.

All monies will be paid at the conclusion of the 2017 Tasmanian Wingless Sprint Title.
